LTH

LTH, or Luteotropic Hormone, is a hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland in your brain. It plays a vital role in regulating your reproductive system, especially in females. LTH's main job is to stimulate the development of the corpus luteum, which is a temporary structure formed in the ovaries after an egg is released during the menstrual cycle.

The corpus luteum produces hormones like progesterone, which help prepare the uterus for a potential pregnancy. If pregnancy doesn't occur, LTH levels decrease, causing the corpus luteum to break down, leading to the start of a new menstrual cycle. So, in simple terms, LTH helps manage the female reproductive system by supporting the monthly cycle and potential pregnancies.
